New-Generation Tungsten Light Source with Micrometer Fine Dimming Released

Pynect has officially released the LS-HM-P3, a new-generation tungsten light source with micrometer fine dimming. Featuring a 2.5W low-power design with instant-on stability and no warm-up required, paired with high-precision micrometer mechanical dimming, it provides stable, repeatable broadband illumination for spectral measurement.

Product Features

  • Instant-on stability, no warm-up: halogen-tungsten lamps usually require a warm-up period before reaching a stable state; the LS-HM-P3 uses precision constant-current control and is ready to use immediately after power-on, significantly shortening measurement preparation time.
  • Micrometer precision dimming: output intensity is precisely adjusted via a micrometer without changing the filament current, avoiding the color-temperature drift caused by current dimming and ensuring consistency of the spectral distribution.
  • Low power, high efficacy: uses a US-made IntllightTech stainless-steel encapsulated cylindrical bulb with a built-in lens paired with a collimating lens for secondary focusing; at just 2.5W it achieves an incident intensity exceeding that of a 20W or higher G4-type bulb.
  • Extra-long bulb life: the high-brightness mode (2.5W) lasts over 2,000 hours, while the long-life mode (1.2W) reaches over 100,000 hours, greatly reducing maintenance costs.
  • Compact and portable: the unit measures only 110×80×40mm and weighs 345g, suitable for benchtop measurement and portable system integration.

Typical Optical Path Applications

  • Cuvette holder optical path: measuring the transmittance or absorbance of solutions, corresponding to the national standard spectrophotometric method;
  • Liquid online measurement optical path: online transmittance or absorbance measurement with a flow cuvette holder;
  • Immersion probe optical path: probe immersed in solution to measure transmittance or absorbance;
  • Solid transmission optical path: measuring the transmittance distribution of lens coatings, plastics, inks and more;
  • Solid reflectance optical path: paired with a reflectance integrating sphere to measure the surface reflectance of regular solids or powders.

Selection Guide

  • For ultra-low power and long-life maintenance scenarios, prioritize the LS-HM-P3 (2.5W);
  • For laboratory measurements requiring higher output intensity, consider the LS-HM-C1 (10W) or LS-H100 (100W);
  • For ultraviolet-to-near-infrared broadband measurement needs, pair with the LS-XE-FH xenon flash lamp (185-1100nm) as a complement.
