SmartSoft Spectroscopy Software 3.0.5 Released
Pynect has officially released SmartSoft 3.0.5, the latest version of its companion measurement software for fiber-optic spectrometers. SmartSoft is a desktop application for spectrometer measurement and optoelectronic testing, compatible with fiber-optic spectrometers such as the SPEC-CMS960, SPEC-CDS350 and SPEC-F950.
Key Features
- Spectral measurement: multiple display modes including spectral distribution, dark spectrum subtraction, transmittance, reflectance, absorbance and optical power;
- Radiometric calibration: import standard lamp files, acquire dark background and standard light source spectra, and generate radiometric calibration coefficients tied to the device serial number;
- Optical power calculation: convert relative-intensity spectra into absolute optical power curves based on calibration coefficients, supporting optical power stitching across two spectrometers;
- CIE analysis: compute correlated color temperature, CIE 1931 2° and CIE 1964 10° chromaticity coordinates, peak wavelength and other parameters from the optical power curve, with chromaticity diagram plotting and CSV export.
Core Design: Shared Acquisition Engine
SmartSoft is built around a "shared acquisition, modules sharing data" design: raw spectral data is uniformly acquired by the top shared acquisition area, and each functional module displays, processes, calibrates and saves based on the same set of real-time spectral data, avoiding the data-desynchronization caused by independent acquisition in different modules.
Dual-Spectrometer Support
When two Pynect spectrometers (for example a visible spectrometer and a near-infrared spectrometer) are connected simultaneously, the software automatically enters dual-device mode, allowing the integration time, averaging count and smoothing count to be set separately for each, and displaying the raw spectra of both devices in a single interface. After radiometric calibration, they can be stitched into one continuous curve in optical power mode.
Data Saving Formats
- The spectral module saves raw-format files along with a CSV copy;
- The CIE module saves a .cie file and simultaneously exports a _cie.csv;
- Wavelength values retain 3 decimal places; CSV files can be read directly by Excel, Origin, Python and MATLAB;
- Data is organized by project directory ({project directory}/data, /csv, /CIE) for long-term testing and traceability.
