OOI Ocean Optics Spectrometer USB Driver

Overview

The OOI driver is the USB driver compatible with the full range of Ocean Optics (Ocean Optics / Ocean Insight) spectrometers, ensuring normal communication between the device and Pynect companion software such as the ElectronView electroluminescence quantum yield test software. When installing ElectronView for the first time, this driver must be installed first; otherwise the software cannot recognize the spectrometer.

Installation Instructions

1. Download the driver installation package (about 5MB);
2. Right-click and run the installer as administrator;
3. Follow the wizard to complete the installation;
4. Connect the Ocean Optics spectrometer;
5. Open ElectronView and confirm the spectrometer serial number is displayed normally in the device connection status bar.

FAQ

Q: The driver is installed but ElectronView still reports that no spectrometer is found?
A: Please check: (1) whether the spectrometer USB cable is firmly plugged in; (2) whether the 64-bit driver was installed; (3) change the USB port and restart the software to retry.

Q: Do other spectrometer software also need this driver?
A: Ocean Optics' original software (such as OceanView) usually comes with its own driver; this driver is mainly for third-party software such as ElectronView when accessing the device.

Q: Does ElectronView 2.3.1 still need Omnidriver?
A: No. ElectronView 2.3.1 has switched to the latest Oceandirect dependency library, so users no longer need to download and install Omnidriver separately.
