USB driver for the Pynect series of fiber optic spectrometers, supporting the SPEC-CMS960, SPEC-CDS350 and SPEC-F950 models.
Overview
The FTDI CDM driver is the companion USB communication driver for Pynect fiber optic spectrometers, responsible for stable data transfer between the device and the computer. The spectrometer has a built-in FTDI USB-to-serial chip; after installing this driver the system can correctly identify the device and communicate normally with the SmartSoft acquisition software or PynectDirect SDK.

Installation Instructions
- Download the driver installation package (about 3MB);
- Right-click and run the installer as administrator;
- Follow the wizard to complete the installation;
- Connect the spectrometer after installation completes;
- Open Device Manager and confirm the device appears under "Ports (COM & LPT)" or "Universal Serial Bus controllers";
- Start SmartSoft and connect the device; the status bar showing "Connected" means installation succeeded.

Q: The device is still not recognized after installation?
A: Please check: (1) whether the installer was run as administrator; (2) try another USB cable or port (avoid insufficient power from the front panel); (3) right-click the device in Device Manager, select "Update driver" → "Search automatically".
Q: Do I need to reinstall after changing computers?
A: Yes, each new computer needs the driver installed once before first use.
Q: What should I note when using it with the PynectDirect SDK?
A: The SDK includes its own ftd2xx.dll, which must be placed in the same directory as PynectDirect.dll; no separate system driver configuration is needed.
